The Delta Queen Steamboat Company will mark the return of the American Queen in 2007 with several advance purchase offers. All three riverboats will steam from their homeport in New Orleans beginning in Spring 2007.

Following her charters to energy companies in support of disaster relief efforts in the Gulf Coast area and an extended lay-up, the American Queen will join the Delta Queen and Mississippi Queen to travel the lower Mississippi River.

Delta Queen president Bruce Nierenberg announced discounts of as much as 30% and free air on many 2007 departures and said all ’07 vacations booked by Aug. 31, 2006, will be priced at 2006 fares.

This will be the first time the trio of steamboats will cruise from New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast. ‘We are very excited about the return of the steamboats to the New Orleans area so our passengers can once again enjoy the unique culture, history and fine dining for which this great city is known,’ Nierenberg said.
