Woman dies after cable car fall A 33-year-old woman has died after falling from a cable car in north Wales. The woman from Llandudno is thought to have fallen around 70 feet from the cable car on the Great Orme headland. The incident happened at an area near the ski lodge - which is about halfway up. Emergency services were called at around 1100 BST on Friday. North Wales Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and that the "cable car was not at fault". A force spokesman said: "An adult female has died as a result of falling from cable car." "There appear to be no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed." The ambulance service was called along with the North Wales Police helicopter on Friday morning and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was travelling alone in the cable car and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident. (BBC) |
