Default Saga Travel Signs Travel Expert Judith Chalmers

It’s not just football teams like Chelsea that sign star players. Saga Travel has signed the travel expert Judith Chalmers to their team.

Judith, known to millions as the face of the ITV's ‘Wish you were here’ and esteemed travel writer will be hosting Saga cruises and holidays as well as providing tips and answering customer questions in Saga’s monthly travel newsletter. This will allow Saga customers to benefit from her years of travel experience and the hundreds of destinations she has visited in a journalistic career that has spanned the globe.

Judith and her husband, sports commentator Neil Durden-Smith, will first be joining passengers aboard Saga Ruby as she cruises to the US and Canada in September, taking in ports such as Montreal, New York, Boston and Halifax. Judith and Neil will be hosting some tables at dinner, going ashore to join some of the excursions and will also individually be hosting question and answer sessions with passengers.

Judith’s other Saga trip will be a South American Adventure departing January 21 2008, taking in the best that Chile, Argentina and Brazil have to offer. Judith will be joining the holiday from Buenas Aires in time to enjoy the Rio Carnival, including the performance at the Sambadrome parade.

Judith Chalmers commented: “I have long-admired Saga cruises and holidays as an operator that takes pride in doing things properly. Providing the right level of support and advice during a holiday is just as important to get right as the quality of the destination and tours.”

Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive, Saga Group, commented: “It is great to have Judith on the Saga Travel team. With her wealth of travel experience and wise counsel she has a great deal to offer our customers and our business. I am sure that many of our customers will be delighted to meet her either on board one of our ships, on one of our holidays or even at our holiday roadshows, which we operate throughout the UK.”
