Parts of Luton Airport have been evacuated following a bomb scare. Police are checking a car parked outside the arrivals terminals.

Part of Luton Airport has been evacuated and some inbound flights diverted while police examine a suspect car parked near the arrivals lounge.

Police said the departure terminal was evacuated and a 656ft (200-metre) cordon put in place around it.


Passengers are being advised that there will be no departures from the airport while the terminal remains closed.


Some arrivals are unaffected and some are being diverted to Stansted.
Bedfordshire Police apologised to anyone affected.

A controlled explosion has been carried out at Luton Airport after a suspect car was found parked near the arrivals lounge.

Police said the departure terminal was evacuated and a 656ft (200-metre) cordon put in place at around 2300 GMT.


Passengers are being advised that there will be no departures from the airport while the terminal remains closed.


Some arrivals are unaffected, however, and some are being diverted to Stansted.
