Glasgow airport announcement

Quote:
At 15.11 today (Saturday 30th June) a vehicle drove into a front door at the check-in area of Glasgow Airport's terminal building.
The vehicle caught fire on impact with the building and is currently outside the terminal building. A police investigation is underway and emergency crews are at the scene.
Glasgow Airport is now closed and a motorway cordon has been established by the police. We are advising passengers NOT to attempt to travel to the airport. All flights are suspended until further notice.
Following the incident, the terminal was evacuated in line with our emergency procedures and those people still on campus are sheltering in buildings near the airport. Further details will be provided over the course of the day.

Heathrow Announcement

Quote:
Heathrow Airport is fully operational. However, due to increased security at the airport following the incident in Glasgow today, we are seeking the co-operation of passengers by asking them to avoid using private vehicles to and from the airport when possible. This measure will help reduce congestion on the surrounding roads and terminal forecourts. We are also encouraging passengers to arrive at the normal time before their flight.

Edinburgh Announcement

Quote:
Due to an incident at Glasgow Airport, the forecourt at Edinburgh Airport has been closed as a precaution. However, Edinburgh Airport remains open with flights operating.

There is increased traffic on the roads leading to and from the airport and delays should be expected. Passengers due to fly should therefore allocate extra time for their journey to the airport.

The airport is now reopened. Most flights are now running. However it is best to check with your airline before starting your journey to the airport.
