Have you ever biked around for a holiday?
I biked around europe when i was 25, i started off in the netherlands, then crossed germany, france, switzerland and Italy. I would of loved to do more but i only had one month ahead of me so...

That is something that my husband and I have discussed at length. I am not convinced that I have the endurance for such a trip although I love biking. If we were to do it, we would probably start small and do like a long weekend or something. Any safety recommendations for such a trip? One of my fears is the issue of safety whether it be dehydration, car traffic, etc....

My last bike trip was 38 miles with no pedaling.

Default Cycling across central Europe

Writing for an article on Riga, I have just interviewed a couple who have cycled from Trieste in northern Italy to Riga in Latvia. They crossed Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia in a few weeks, 1300 miles in all, or almost 2500km.
They had a great time, accommodation really cheap and were always able to find cycle repair shops. And they are around 60 years of age.
