We had a beautiful limo when going from Port Canaveral to Orlando Airport.
It was called a Nascar Limo.....painted up to look like Nascar racing car.....absolutely fabulous journey we had back to the airport.
So if you are looking for something just a wee bit different try this limo.

A new car hire one stop site has been formed...

Quote:
CarTrawler.com provides website rental access

A fully functional 'Open Travel Alliance'-based booking system has been launched by CarTrawler.com for strategic partners including airline booking sites.

The OTA XML engine will allow travel websites owned by airlines, travel agencies and other travel industry content providers access to car rental inventory across every major car rental company in the world, according to the Dublin-based online car rental consolidator and technology company.

More than 6,000 locations and 350 suppliers are included in the new reservation system.

The company’s chief technical officer Bobby Healy said: “The car hire industry is plagued by legacy technology which has been a major barrier for companies.

“These traditional GDSs such as Sabre and Amadeus have failed to provide modern technology to address the needs of the largest booking engines. CarTrawler.com bypasses legacy GDS technology ensuring that large airlines and travel agencies have a cost effective, technically superior means to package a car rental product for their customers, while improving margins and providing a better customer service.

“The car rental industry is intensely competitive. We can now provide a turn-key solution for any company wanting to provide the best possible rates and availability to their clients.”

Company CEO Greg Turley added: “It’s no longer sufficient for an airline or travel agency to provide a single car rental supplier to their customer base. Customers will shop around to make sure they get the best price unless the company provide access to all their options for car rental in one place – their own website.”

CarTrawler.com plans to introduce a series of multi-lingual fully functional OTA based reservations systems, with a German version launched at ITB in Berlin ealier in the month.

EV Rental Cars, the nation's only rental car agency exclusively offering hybrid vehicles, is building its fleet in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. During the next six to 12 months the company will add as many as 500 hybrid vehicles to the EV Rental Cars fleet in Las Vegas alone, which is one of the top three highest volume rental car cities in America. A particular benefit of renting EV Rental Cars' hybrid vehicles is that these vehicles qualify for the carpool lane in California, even when the driver is the only occupant. The hybrid vehicles provided by EV Rental Cars include the Toyota Prius, Toyota Highlander and the new Honda Civic hybrid models. Each gets nearly 50 miles a gallon and has a range of about 600 miles per tank of gasoline. Both are half electric and half gasoline-powered cars that seat five passengers. Each is equipped with integrated charging systems, which mean they never have to be recharged from an outside source. Visit [www.evrental.com].

Avis overhauls service after customer research

Avis is launching a series of service initiatives across Europe this year based on feedback from 13,000 customers.

As part of a programme called 'Inspired Change', the car rental firm will:

- scrap the standard A, B, C, or D car ratings and allow customers to select their hire car based on whether it's automatic or manual, petrol or diesel, small, medium, or large, and how many people and how much luggage it carries

- allow customers to guarantee the make and model of car they want to drive

- add more of the most popular makes and models to its fleet, which include VW Golfs, VW Passats, VW Tourans and Peugeot 307 CCs

- give customers the option to pre-pay for a full tank of fuel when they collect their car, at a price lower than the local pump price, and then return it empty. If drivers return their car with the tank full, even after taking the 'Fuel Up Front' option, Avis will refund the tank charge

- avoid using jargon on its website or any literature, for example from now on referring to 'car pick up' instead of 'check-in' and 'vehicle damage cover instead of 'collision damage waiver' or 'CDW'.
