|  ‘Grandparent and grandchildren’ coach tours going on sale

Holidays specifically designed for grandparents and grandchildren are due to be offered from next month by WA Shearings.
Three tours will be available between July and December. For departures in July and August grandparents can take a Lion King and the London Eye break, including two nights accommodation, travel by coach and accommodation in a central London hotel. Adult prices start at £159 and children at £89.
Prices start at £119 for adults and £69 for children for a two-night Legoland and London Eye break, including coach travel.
One-night London theatre breaks start at £99 for children and £119 for adults for shows including Lion King, Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You, Daddy Cool, Movin Out and Wicked.
The coach operator’s sales and marketing director Karen Gee said: “From our research there is obviously a clear need for a specially tailored product which caters for grandparents wanting to travel with their grandchildren.
“Our figures show that today’s grandparents are more involved with their grandchildren’s upbringing than ever before providing much needed financial and emotional support.
“With 32% of grandparents contributing towards holidays and over 75% of grandparents spending up to £1,000 on their grandchildren, we are confident that our tours not only fill a much needed gap in the market, but will also provide much needed rest and relaxation for both grandparents and grandchildren.”
