Default Coach holidays

Having been a passenger and a driver/courier on coach tours I have been able to see this type of holiday from both sides of the fence.

Touring either one country or several countries in a set number of days is great fun and as long as you don't mind packing and unpacking every day or so at different hotels and you have a sense of fun and adventure, this might be an easy and cheap option in seeing countries.

I have done 22 day tours of 10 European capitals and also done Scotish tours based at a single hotel and going out each day to a new place, amongst about 50+ tours as a driver or passenger

Default Multi-country Tours

Several years ago, we did a European tour through a company calle Globus. (They did a find job, by the way)
The tour was called "Taste of Europe" or maybe "Heart of Europe...
At any rate, we 'sampled' seven countries, spending one or two days in each place - or in a couple of instances, only a 'drive-through' on our way to someplace else.

While it was fascinating, and I'm awfully glad we did it, I wouldn't do it again... I'd limit the number of countries visited and not have to rush hither and yon quite so much. But, all in all, it was a delightful time, and we saw a number of places that we put down on our 'someday' lists for return visits.

I guess it was a good way to see a lot in a little bit of time...

Last year we had one of the best vacations we have ever had. We went to a small Inn in Seefeld, Austria for 13 nights and took bus trips almost every day to places like Venice, Salsburg, Switzerland, Bavaria, Italy etc. The beauty of the trip was, much like cruising, we unpacked once and the roamed for the rest of the time without the burden of packing/unpacking plus we returned "home" every night to freshly preared dinners and slept in "our" bed every night. The scenery was outstanding and since we went in October we had every kind of weather you can imagine from short sleeve dining outside to snow by the time we left.

We have done a 17 day bus tour of Turkey that was absolutely fascinating. The pacing was very good since we got to stay in some luxury resorts for 2 or days at a time.

Coach holidays are a brilliant way of seeing Europe and the tours aren't that expensive either. You get to see alot of the countries and meet the people too. After cruising, this has to be my next best form of travelling.

I've done 2 coach tours to Austria. One to St Anton and the other to Saltzburg. Seeing the countryside of Europe is beautiful. As you go from country to country the changes are evident.

I normally travel with Travelsphere who in my opinion are a cery good couple.

I've worked for Travelsphere and David Urquhart when they have chartered my coaches in 2002/3. Great itineraries and lots of fun too.

The itineraries are very varied from all the companies, and popular mainly, I think, cos they don't cost a fortune and they usually have local pick-up points. I did charters alot, and went to Scotland, France, Belgium, Wales, Spain amongst other places, oh and all over England too.

I think it's a great way to see a lot with most of the work and planning done for you. I've been on a 10 day Canadian Maritimes tour , a 2 1/2 week National parks tour (USA ) , 2 1/2 weeks touring in Italy and enjoyed them all. I've used Caravan, Go Ahead Vacations and Trafalgar. The best part is that they handla the luggage!
