Cancun-based vacation ownership company Royal Resorts announced the opening of its latest resort, The Royal Haciendas. Located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport, the Royal Haciendas will comprise two haciendas, Hacienda del Sol (Hacienda of the Sun) and Hacienda de la Luna (Hacienda of the Moon). Both are five-star resort communities with 252 villas each. Amenities at The Royal Haciendas include two restaurants, pools, tennis courts, gym, massage service, activity program for children and adults, kids' areas, convenience store, travel agency and car rental. Boutiques, specialty restaurants and a spa will be added to the resort in phase two of the project. The first phase of Hacienda del Sol has 55 villas; the entire project will be finished by 2009.
