The Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens ushers in the 2008 Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rat, with a new exhibit. The centerpiece is a five-foot-tall rodent perched on an oversized, flowering branch. The rat's coat is made of red alternanthera, a low-growing herb, with a touch of pink hypoestes, a tropical plant. Nearby, an 18-foot-tall Chinese god of wealth and fortune stands amid "lucky" coins. There's also a koi pond, where carp swim in multiples of eight, considered the most fortuitous number in Chinese culture. The exhibit runs through March 15. Call 888-987-6667 or visit Las Vegas Hotel - Bellagio.
