Question Hotel's: How do you find the best deal?

Do you use a particular agent or website to book your hotels? Do you book early to get a good deal or leave it to the last moment?

Let us know how you personally get the best hotel deal in town.

I try lots of different things....priceline, hotwire travelaxe, travelocity, expedia and I always check with the hotel directly. I'm usually most satisfied with Hotwire.

The last time we've booked hotels was a couple of years ago for Seattle. I did a lot of research checking guide books, websites, AAA book (members get a destination guide for free) to compare hotels. My hubby said he didn't want an older hotel so that eliminated many of them. I also used tripadvisor.com, reading what many travellers wrote, but taking some of it with a grain of salt (especially the really negative or the absolutely glowing ones).
