| Bushman Company Sets Up Beehive Charity Drive Quote:
The Bushman Company in the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, is providing an opportunity for guests to help the local population improve their lives. The company has set up beehives for the villagers in a local community, Malama, to manage and sell honey. Guests who want to make a difference may donate $50 to build a beehive. The beehive project has set up several thousand beehives which provide the villagers with employment. It also aids with tree conservation as the villagers are more hesitant to cut down trees. The project has seen a great deal of success and the Bushcamp Company plans to set up more beehives in other communities.
The Bushcamp Company operates four exclusive and remote bushcamps -- Kuyenda, Chamilandu, Chindeni, and Bilimungwe. Rates range from $250 to $660 per person per night double occupancy, including accommodations, meals, game activities, drinks (excluding imported wines) laundry, park fees, airport transfers, taxes and service charges. Children over the age of 12 are welcome. The Bushcamp Company is a member of Zambian Horizons, a network of upscale safari camps in Zambia (www.ZambianHorizons.com).
