Default Florida Beach

Hey, Rick. I found an offer for what looks like a nice little beach-front bungalow on Anna Marie Island. Since that's handy to your location, I thought I'd ask if you think that is a good place to let the frostbite thaw for a couple of weeks in January.

Larry, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, didn't see this post. Anna Marie is a great place to thaw out but be warned the gulf water will be very chilly in January. Anna Marie itself is a charming small town away from the hustle and bustle of both Sarasota and Bradenton. Some great places to eat too.

How DO they get deer to cross the road only at those yellow road signs?

Thanks, Rick. Sounds like my kind of place.

Larry flying into Sarasota could be costly and it is not much further to fly into Tampa. (They're both 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other) Airtran flys into Sarasota and may have some good fares. Southwest only flys into Tampa but may have some good fares.

Thanks, Rick, but we'll be driving. In addition to a couple of weeks at the beach, we'll take two or three days in transit both ways and see a few sights along the way. What I read about Anna Maria is that you really need a car while there.
