In one of the earliest opening dates in its 159-year history, the Maid of the Mist boats will hit the waters in the Niagara Gorge on Wednesday.
Officials from the popular Niagara Falls attraction attributed the early season cruises to a mild winter, one in which there was little to no ice on Lake Erie and the Niagara River.
The four Maid of the Mist boats will leave from both its U.S. and Canadian docks in the respective Niagara Falls,
The 30-minute cruises that take riders to the base of Niagara Falls leave the docks every 15 minutes, beginning at 10 a.m.
