Delta to exit bankruptcy protection Delta Air Lines looks set to be given a clean bill of financial health on April 30 after more than 18 months under bankruptcy protection.
The carrier is likely to receive approval from the courts for its restructuring plan on April 25 following a vote by creditors.
The airline will formally exit bankruptcy protection five days later, revealing a new livery. Northwest Airlines, which sought refuge on the same day as Delta, will then be the only US carrier still under protection.
Delta hopes its rebirth will be boosted by the open skies agreement between Europe and the US. This will finally allow it access to Heathrow, which it has been barred from operating to. |
