Default What is it about RVing?

I think it is a very interesting way to travel? What is it about the open road that gets people?

Driving through some of the most unspoilt places on earth, having no timetables to keep and waking up to a new, stunning view every morning

Its touring without boundaries or strings

Whether for a weekend or a lifetime....it's a fabulous way to vacation or adventure

I spent 2 1/2 weeks traveling to North Carolina. (ok I spent the majority of the time there) Pat was coming home from Iraq and went to Ft Bragg first. So instead of just going down there for a short time I loaded up the van and the trailer and my daughter and her friend. It was great. We had time to settle back and relax and get all set up in our campsite before he got home. Then when he got back he was able to stay at the campsite with us during the outprocessing.

I drove back ahead of him. He was a week behind us. Then when he returned home we took 3 1/2 weeks traveling across country. We did mostly the backroads and highways. We for the most part stayed away from the big cities. It was a great way to see the country. And wonderful way to spend time together.

That sounds like a wonderful vacation adventure, Helen! I'll bet you can see how we got bit by the RV bug and dove into Full-timing!

Not ever having to pack.

Waking up in your own bed, every morning

Never forgeting to bring your favorite CD

Chosing your own itinerary

Visiting friends without crowding them

Having the opportunity to really get to know an area

"Going where the weather suits my clothes"

Fresh Maine lobster in August

New Years Eve in New Orleans

Winter in Big Bend, Texas

Making friends over a campfire

We spent twelve years living and traveling in a motorhome, from 1982 to 1994. Wouldn't trade the memories of our adventures for anything in the world.

I also like sleeping in my own bed.
We go to Nascar races and stay at or very near the track so there is no dealing with traffic on race day.
Never have to worry about drinking and driving.
We also visit friends at their lake homes but have our own place to stay.
Our little dog can come along.
