Default How much is a good RV?

I have always thought they were extremely expensive, but I really don't know how much they are. Any ideas?

Over here you can get a good used one of around 3 yrs old for about £10k+. New ones can go from arounf £15k to well over £45k depending on specification.

They can run as high as 150K and even higher. I have seen some real nice ones for around 40K. But that is a low end model. It does all depend on what you want.

I just had lunch with my sister-in-law and her husband who currently own an RV. They had just returned from an RV rally. One of the new Prevost coaches had a price tag of 1.8 million dollars! Now, I know that real estate values have sky rocketed in California, but that seems riduculous. Especially since it DOESN"T include a driver and a butler!

Prices will vary depending on what type of an RV you want. A trailer is much cheaper than a motorhome but even motorhome prices vary by size.

Question

So what is the average price in the USA? And what other expenses would you incur after purchase?

I would say for a medium grade motorhome 36-40 ft, with most options would cost between 150,00.00 and 200,000.00 for a new model.

Other expenses include outfitting, just like a home, linens, cookware, etc.
which can come to several thousand dollors depending again on your style.

Overnight camping, nice resorts can cost 50.00 and more in tourist areas.
Fuel is a big expense as most will get about 10 miles to the gallon of gas, diesels a little better.

Insurance and repairs (just like automobile) and appliances in RV are more expensive than home appliances.

But we love ours, bought used at a good price to see if we really liked RVing, and are now looking to upgrade.
