Over here we have various motoring associations, camping associations and tourist boards who have directories of sites and their facilities etc. Its very well catered for here and in mainland Europe too.

It all depends on the type of sites you want. We had our list of KOA's. Kampgrounds of America's. We also had our laptop with us. You can find what you want through the tourist sites of where you are going. We also did some of the state campgrounds and some of the federal parks. Most of those you will find on your Travel Atlas. When we were in Branson we saw many campgrounds. When we found one we liked near town we stopped and checked in. There are usually signs on the highways or freeways for the campgrounds.

My parents were members of Good Sam and another of the travel clubs. They had a membership to one that you could stay at each park for up to 2 weeks. They had a list of where they were in each state.

We don't have a RV. All we have is a camping trailer, which our daughter gave us when they got a new one. I'm hoping to get some use out of it this year though

Last month, we picked one at Carlsbad from a website. As we pulled into the town, we saw a nicer one on the riverbanks, but the place we had reserved had our credit card number.

When HH and I were full-time RVing we worked one summer for Woodall's Campground Directories, which is an excellent publication to buy if you're serious about camping or RVing. They have lisitings online at http://www.woodalls.com/ but if you're traveling and can't get to a computer, the books are wonderful and chock-full of information. You can buy them online or at any large bookseller like Barnes & Noble, BooksAMillion, etc. you can get the Big Book that covers the whole nation, or you can get regionalized publications.

Our job was to travel to each and every privately-owned campround & RV park in our assigned states, which were Oklahoma, Idaho and Wyoming. Needless to say, we had to criss-cross each of these states to make all of our stops! Once there, we inspected each campground & RV park and rated it for the book.

It was a fun and interesting job that took us to places we wouldn't have ordinarily thought to go...nd we met about a zillion people who shared our love of RVing!

I research online and use a directory published by Trailer Life. I read the ratings in the directory and also try to check out reviews from different websites.

Triple AAA is a good resource. KOAs are all over as well. I think visiting your local RV showroom\dealer would be an good resource as well. They surely have brochures and info!
