Smile RiverBarge offering Savings on November Sailings

RiverBarge Excursion Lines is offering savings on two November programs. Customers are offered $100 in ‘Barge Bucks,’ an on-board credit that may be used for alcohol and gift shop purchases.

In addition, the company is offering a reduced single supplement rate of 25%.

The savings are available on a six-day program, Nov. 5-10, from Louisville to Nashville. The 198-passenger River Explorer will travel on the Ohio River, passing through five locks before entering the Cumberland River.

Also eligible for the savings is an eight-day program roundtrip from Nashville, Nov. 10-17. The course charts the Cumberland River, Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River.

I have done the RiverBarge. We went from Cincinnati to St. Louis (down the Ohio River, then up the Miss. River.) It took 9 days and I probably could have walked almost as fast. One of the interesting things about this barge is it is over 700 feet long, yet at night we simply tied a rope around a tree on shore to spend the night. One of the things the crew kept touting was "wait till you see the Confluence of the two rivers. Well, when we finally got there it was midnight and we saw-NOTHING even tho they ttried to shine a spotlight on it!

How DO they get deer to cross the road only at those yellow road signs?
