Default Cruisers are younger and richer

Cruise passengers are getting younger and richer, according to a study by the Cruise Lines International Association. The average age of cruisers, 49, is the youngest ever. And the average income of passengers hit six figures for the first time - $104,000.

Cruising had the highest percentage of "extremely satisfied" customers, at 45 per cent, beating all-inclusive resorts at 42 per cent.

Those surveyed also thought cruising offered better value for their money, surpassing even all-inclusive resorts.

The main attraction of cruising was seen by "being pampered".
